SPRUCE GROVE, Alta. - The host Golden Bears and Pandas swept the titles at the 2024 UofA Invitational, hosted at The Links at Spruce Grove. Ethan Howes and Kalee Seto captured individual titles, while the Bears 'B' team and Pandas 'A' team won the team titles. 

Howes — who spent two years with the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles — was able to hold onto his 18-hole lead at the UofA Invitational, shooting a two-under 70 on Monday to capture the opening tournament of 2024. Howes fired the lowest scores in the field on both Sunday and Monday, winning his first Canada West tournament by 11 shots. He finished the weekend with eight birdies and three eagles, highlighted by a seven-under 65 on Sunday. 

Fellow first-year Bears Kai Baerg (+2) and Seth Mottershead-Yee (+4) placed second and third behind Howes. 

Second-year Panda Kalee Seto captured her second university on Monday, winning the UofA Invitational by 13 shots. Seto pared six-straight holes on the back-nine on Monday to secure the victory.

Fellow Pandas Jenna Sand (+27) and Hayden Desmarais (+33) finished second and third behind Seto. 

The Golden Bears and Pandas will head south next weekend, as the Lethbridge Pronghorns host the second week of competition at Paradise Canyon Golf Resort.
