Bears and Pandas each place second by a single shot at UofC Invitational

Seto, Howes, Baerg also place second as individuals

CALGARY — The University of Calgary Dinos captured the men's team title at the 2025 UofC Invitational by the narrowest of margins, finishing one stroke ahead of the Alberta Golden Bears at Springbank Links Golf Club. Calgary closed at 27-over 595, while Alberta settled at 596. Regina (622) and Lethbridge (674) rounded out the field.

Calgary's Adam Reed delivered the standout performance, firing rounds of 74 and 69 to finish at one-over 143 and claim the individual crown. Alberta's Ethan Howes (70-76) and Kai Baerg (71-75) shared second at 146, three shots back.

Behind Reed, the Dinos benefited from consistency across the roster. Sam Bratvold carded a 72 in the second round to finish tied for fourth at 150, while Sahil Kaura (151) and Maaz Saad (156) added depth. Alberta countered with strong showings from Connor O'Reilly (150) and Seth Mottershead-Yee (155), but fell just short of overtaking their rivals.Ā

On the women's side, Calgary and Alberta staged a duel of their own, with the Dinos prevailing by a single stroke at 496, one better than Alberta's 497. Lethbridge finished third at 553.

Calgary's Brooke Tombs set the pace individually, carding rounds of 79 and 80 for a 159, three shots ahead of Alberta's Kalee Seto (162). Pandas teammate Anna Kibria placed third at 164, while Lethbridge's Kyra Tovee and Calgary's Georgia McKenzie shared fourth at 167.

Calgary also received key contributions from Kristin McGeachie, who rebounded from a 93 on Day 1 to post an 80 and finish sixth at 173. Alberta kept pressure with steady play from Hayden Desmarais (174), Sam Speck (175) and Amy Smith (177).

Next on the calendar is the 2025 UofA Invitational, held at Millwoods Golf Club on September 28th and 29th.Ā
