Seto, Howes capture UofL Invitational titles

Pandas also win team event at 2025 opener

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — Kalee Seto and Ethan Howes continued their winning ways, each capturing individual titles at the 2025 University of Lethbridge Invitational. 

Seto led wire-to-wire, winning at 154, five shots ahead of Lethbridge's Kyra Tovee. Calgary's Brooke Tombs (161) and Georgia McKenzie (162) rounded out the top four. Alberta teammates Anna Kibria (163) and Amy Smith (166) provided further depth, keeping the Pandas in front throughout the tournament.

On the team side, the Pandas controlled the field, capturing the team championship with a commanding 481,14 strokes clear of Calgary. Host Lethbridge finished third at 521, while UFV placed fourth at 526.

Lethbridge's Tovee highlighted the Pronghorns' effort with her runner-up finish, while teammate Sarah Broad tied for 12th at 178. Calgary's depth was boosted by consistent play from Tombs, McKenzie, and Aubrie Shapkin, who tied for ninth at 175.

The University of Calgary Dinos edged the University of Alberta Golden Bears by a single stroke to claim the men's team title at the 2025 UofL Invitational, held at Paradise Canyon Golf Club. Calgary finished at 13-over 581 through two rounds, while Alberta closed at 582.

Alberta's Ethan Howes set the pace individually, taking top honours with a six-under 136, carding a 65 on Day 1 before following it with a 71. Calgary's Sam McKeown challenged but settled for second, two shots back at 138. UFV's Andrew Biggar placed third at 143, while Alberta's Kai Baerg came in fourth at 144.

The Bears crowded the leaderboard with depth, as Braydon Bouliane and Connor O'Reilly tied for fifth at 146, alongside Calgary's Sam Bratvold. Calgary's Adam Reed opened strong with a 69 but slipped to 149 after an 80 in Round 2, tying UFV's Brett Bateman for ninth.
