Powering the Golden Bears to a third-straight podium finish at the Canada West Championship, and second team silver medal in three seasons, Ron MacLean has been named the Sherlock Holmes Athlete of the Week. 

MacLean finished second overall on the men's side, earning an individual silver medal and a spot on the first All-Star team. His silver medal showing was the best finish for a Bears runner in Canada West competition since Adrian Lambert placed second in 2005.

MacLean finished just eight seconds behind individual champion and UBC Thunderbird Tyler Dozzi on the eight kilometer track, finishing with a time of 24:03.07. It's the best finish this season for MacLean, who finished fourth at the Sled Dog Open in Saskatoon. 

Next on the schedule for MacLean and the Golden Bears is the 2022 U SPORTS Championship, scheduled for November 12th in Halifax.
