Josh Prokop was the straw that stirred the Alberta Golden Bears in making a statement on opening weekend. Prokop put up five points in two convincing wins over the second-ranked Mount Royal Cougars, and has been named the Sherlock Holmes Athlete of the Week.

He posted his goal on Friday night off a feed from Matt Fonteyne, a goal that would stand as the game winner in the 6-1 victory.

The second-year forward also added two assists on Friday, one a beautiful cross ice feed to Josh Paterson, who found the open net.

Prokop was hungry to set the tone in Saturday's rematch, burying a rocket of a one-timer past the Cougars goaltender early in the second period.

He would add another in the third, finishing the weekend with three goals and two assists in Alberta's two statement wins.
