
Helping guide the Golden Bears to a third-straight Canada West Curling Championship this weekend in Regina, first-year lead Gabe Dyck has been named the Sherlock Holmes Pub Athlete of the Week.
Dyck was stellar over four games for the Golden Bears, who finished the conference tournament with a perfect 4-0 record, outscoring their opponents 35-17 over those four games. Since the sports return to Canada West in 2019, the Golden Bears are now 12-0 in the conference curling championship, and have now won six Canada West titles in program history (1973-75, 2019-20, 2022).Â

World Curling Tour events this season, finished the event with a 80.3% shooting percentage, earning a plus (5% or better that his opponent) in three of the four Bears games.Â
The Kinesiology, Sport, & Recreation was the lone Bear to be named a Canada West All-Star, getting the nod at the lead position.Â
The 2022 Curling Canada / U SPORTS University Curling Championship was set to take place in Sudbury, Ont. from March 15th to 19th, but was canceled by Curling Canada due to health and safety protocols.Â
