Helping the Golden Bears Basketball team maintain their undefeated record, third-year guard Lars Ishimwe has been named the Sherlock Holmes Pub Athlete of the Week.

The Harry Ainlay product scored 25 points off the bench for the Bears, as they earned a pair of convincing wins over the MacEwan Griffins on the road. Ishimwe connected on 11 of his 15 shot attempts, scoring those 25 points in just 42 minutes of court time.

The third-year guard also added four rebounds and an assist in the Bears 105-61 win on Friday, before chipping in five rebounds and three assists in their 99-69 win on Saturday night. Ishimwe is now averaging 10.9 points and 4.1 boards per game for the 8-0 Bears. 

The U SPORTS No. 2 ranked Bears will return home this weekend, as they host the Calgary Dinos in their first action at Saville Centre in 2022.
