Powering the Bears to a series sweep over the previously undefeated UBC Thunderbirds, freshman forward Gary Haden has been named the Sherlock Holmes Pubs Athlete of the Week.

Haden finished the weekend with three points and 10 shots, as the Bears extended their win streak to four games.

The former Victoria Royal recorded and assist and a pair of shots in Alberta's 2-1 double overtime win on Friday, getting a helper on Josh Prokop's first period goal.

Haden was excellent in the Bears 4-3 win on Saturday, scoring twice in the second period, as the Bears erased an early 2-0 deficit. Haden tied the game with his third of the season on the powerplay, before giving the Bears a 3-2 lead just under three minutes later. He also recorded a game-high eight shots on Saturday. He now ranks second on Alberta with eight points in eight games, and sixth in the rookie scoring race. 

Haden and the 6-2-0 Bears will remain at home this weekend, as they welcome the 2-7-1 Manitoba Bisons to Clare Drake Arena.
