Eze, Rattee medal on Day 2 of U SPORTS Championship

Bears sit 7th, Pandas 14th through two days in Windsor

WINDSOR, ONT - The Golden Bears added a pair of U SPORTS medals to their total on Friday in Windsor.

Canada West Field MVP Wesley Eze won silver in the men's weight throw, setting a new personal best with a throw of 18.52m. It's Eze's first U SPORTS medal after earning four Canada West medals over the last two years.

CW Rookie of the Year Ryder Rattee captured bronze in the men's 300m, setting a new personal best with a time of 34.30.

Through two days in Windsor, the Golden Bears sit in a tie for 7th, while the Pandas sit in 14th.

A pair of record-setting performances by Calgary's Sienna MacDonald highlighted the individual performances on Day 2 of the 2025 BioSteel U SPORTS Track & Field Championships in Windsor, Friday. The fourth-year Arts major from Airdrie, Alta., set new U SPORTS marks in the women's long jump and the 60-metre hurdles on Friday. In the long jump, she flew for 6.25 metres on her sixth and final attempt to break the U SPORTS record, which had stood since 2001, by one centimetre. She followed that up by posting a time of 7.99 seconds in the 60-metre hurdles, beating the rest of the field by nearly half a second, and shaving 0.16 seconds off the old mark.
