It's a three-peat for the Golden Bears Curling team, who captured their third-straight Canada West Curling title this weekend at the Caledonian Curling Club in Regina, Saskatchewan.Â
The Golden Bears who finished the conference tournament with a perfect 4-0 record, outscoring their opponents 35-17 over those four games. Since the sports return to Canada West in 2019, the Golden Bears are now 12-0 in the conference curling championship, and have now won six Canada West titles in program history (1973-75, 2019-20, 2022).Â
The Golden Bears defeated the UBC Thunderbirds 7-6 in Draw 5 to clinch the title on Sunday morning.Â
Finishing the event with a 80.3% shooting percentage, and earning a plus (5% or better that his opponent) in three of the four Bears games, lead
Gabe Dyck was named a Canada West All-Star.Â
The Pandas, who finished the event with a 2-2 round robin record, defeated the Brandon Bobcats 11-5 in a tie-breaker game on Sunday afternoon to win silver. The host Regina Cougars earned their first ever Canada West women's curling championship.

The 2022 Curling Canada / U SPORTS University Curling Championship was set to take place in Sudbury, Ont. from March 15th to 19th, but was canceled by Curling Canada due to health and safety protocols.Â
