REGINA, SK - The playoff picture will come into focus Friday at the 2026 U SPORTS/CCAA Curling Championships, with first place on the line in both competitions and multiple teams still battling for coveted semifinal spots heading into the final day of round-robin play at the Caledonian Curling Club in Regina.
Memorial and McMaster lead the way with 4-1 records on the women's side. Entering the day with a 2-1 record, the Pandas split their two games on Thursday, entering the last day of round robin play with a 3-2 record.
The Pandas began with a dominant 9-4 win over Guelph, before dropping an 8-3 decision to UNB. Alberta still sits inside the top four and a semifinal berth, as they prepare to play the 3-2 Cougars and 4-1 Marauders on Friday in Regina.
Carleton remains perfect with a 5-0 record after the third day of competition. After wins over Regina, Calgary, and Alberta to start the event, the Ravens rolled to an 8-0 victory over York on Thursday afternoon and then scored a pair in the eighth end to finish off Dalhousie by a 6-4 score in the evening draw.
The Golden Bears re-entered the playoff picture at the U SPORTS Championship thanks to two wins on Thursday. Alberta opened with an 8-4 win over Dalhousie in the afternoon, followed by a 5-4 win over York in the evening.
The Bears will see a pair of Canada West foes on Friday, as they take on the Canada West Champion Dinos (3-2), and the championship host Regina Cougars (1-4) to close the round robin.
The championships feature eight U SPORTS men's teams and eight women's teams competing in round-robin play through Friday. Draws on the final day of the round robin are set for 12:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. local time at the Callie.
The top four teams in each competition will advance to the semifinals on Saturday morning, with gold and bronze medal games set for Saturday afternoon.
