EDMONTON – Luke Norman scored twice in the final moments of the first half to lift the No. 2-ranked UBC Thunderbirds to a 3-0 win over the University of Alberta Golden Bears on Sunday at Foote Field.
Max Comsia opened the scoring in the 10th minute, finishing off an assist from Norman. The Thunderbirds then struck twice at the end of the opening half, with Norman scoring off feeds from Nicolas Nadeau and Markus Rukavina to make it 3-0 at the break. Alberta was unable to get back into the match after halftime.

Trystan Read made four saves in the loss. The Golden Bears generated eight shots, with
Frankroy Cain and
Nicholas Lechelt each recording multiple chances, but UBC goalkeeper Jack Garner turned aside both shots on target to earn the shutout.
The loss drops Alberta to 4-3-1 on the season, while UBC improves to 7-0-2.
The Golden Bears will travel to face the UNBC Timberwolves on Friday, Oct. 2, at 11:30 a.m.
UBC will host the Calgary Dinos on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m.
