Story Lines:
- Edmonton will be the centre of Canada West wrestling this weekend, as the Alberta capital hosts the 2026 Canada West Wrestling Championships.
- The host Golden Bears enter as the four time defending champions on the men's side, while Calgary's women will seek a third straight conference banner.
- Leading the way for the Pandas is fifth-year Vianne Rouleau, who continues to establish herself as one of the most dominant wrestlers in the country. The reigning UAlberta Female Athlete of the Year earned gold at both the UofA and Guelph Tournaments earlier this season.
- Alberta also boasts strength through its men's ranks. The Golden Bears had a strong showing at their home event earlier in January, with seniors Ben Reid (57kg), Thomas Rousseau (90kg), and third-year Bjorn Nelson (125kg) going undefeated in their brackets.Â

- After a 13-7 regular season, the Golden Bears earned the #3 seed for the Canada West post-season and will host the opening weekend of playoffs at Saville.
- The Bears will host the winner of UFV vs Regina, who will play on Friday afternoon. The Bears and Cougars split their two meetings earlier this season, while the Bears and Cascades haven't met in Edmonton since 2022.
- The winner of Saturday's game will advance to the CW Semifinal.Â
