• This weekend's tournament marks the start of the ninth season of Canada West Rugby 7s. 
• The 2026 UofA tournament will be a straight round-robin format, with each team playing each other once.

• Alberta will host Winnipeg in a rematch of the 2025 Canada West Final, won by the Wesmen on their home court.

• The Bears currently sit fourth in Canada West with an 8-4 record. The top four seeds will host a best-of-three quarter-final series in late February.
