EDMONTON - The longstanding trio of Adam Paige, Brandon Meiklejohn, and Lars Ishimwe showed out in their last home game at the Saville Centre, combining for 44 points in an 83-61 victory Saturday night.
Meiklejohn and Ishimwe both had 16 points, while Paige finished with 12 and added seven rebounds and four assists. Second-year Isaac Simon had a game-high 17 points for Alberta.
The Bears move to 12-6 on the year, while the WolfPack drop to 4-12 with the loss.
Denys Bachurin paced the 'Pack in the loss, also scoring a game-high 17 points.
The first half was a reversal of fortune for TRU compared to their game Friday. They were more active on defence, more efficient on offence, but still went into the half trailing 47-35. The Bears attacked from beyond the arc, eventually ending up with 36 attempts, a stark contrast to TRU's 25. The game would get as close to a five-point margin, but the trio of graduating seniors were able to lock down an eventual 83-61 victory.
The Bears are on the road for the final two games, visiting Lethbridge, while TRUÂ return home to face the Mount Royal Cougars.
