First-year Bear
Rodane Cato was one of 16 players selected in the 2024Â Canadian Premier League (CPL) Draft, going 10th overall to Cavalry FC.Â
Cato, a first team Canada West All-Star in 2023, was one of four CW student-athletes selected in the draft, which took place on Thursday afternoon. The Hellshire, Jamaica product started in 12 of the 14 Bears regular season games this season, helping Alberta finish second in the Prairie Division with a 10-2-2 record. In his 12 games, Cato recorded 15 shot attempts and three shots on target. He also started both playoff games for the Bears, recording three shots.Â
Prior to joining the Golden Bears this fall, Cato spent two seasons with the NAIT Ooks.Â
