Entering his fourth season as head coach of the three-time national champion Golden Bears Soccer program,
Martin Fenger-Andersen has added five recruits to his roster for the 2022 CW season.
Joining the Bears for next season are two defenders, two strikers, and one central midfielder. Four of the five recruits are also Edmonton products, with one from Winnipeg. The crop of recruits will join returning Golden Bear startersÂ

The Golden Bears went 4-1-5 in conference play in 2021, eventually falling to Fraser Valley in the Canada West quarter-final. Alberta is looking for their first CW and U SPORTS title since winning both in 2016.Â

"Habib is a young striker who has shown a great desire to improve his game over the past year and has worked incredibly hard to earn himself a spot with our program going into 2022. Habib played his youth soccer with Southwest Sting in Edmonton and had an excellent summer with the Green and Gold Men's team in the AMSL, scoring 7 goals in 14 games to date. Habib is a dynamic striker with a great work ethic and has shown great finishing ability in front of goal. I am very happy to have Habib join Golden Bears soccer for the 2022 season."Â

Mahdi is a player we have known for many years as he came through his youth years with Edmonton Juventus Soccer Club and our own Green and Gold Soccer Academy. Juan Rea:

The U of Alberta's soccer program operates at a high level and I know I will come out as a better player. The U of A is also one of the top schools in Canada for my field of study. After touring the campus and athletic facilities, I was very impressed by what the U of Alberta has to offer."
