Kristyn Shapka was named the 5th Head Coach of the Pandas Soccer program at the end of the 2019 season.
She spent three seasonsĀ on staff with the Canada Soccer Regional Excel Program (REX), and recently represented Alberta as an Assistant Coach at the 2019 Western Canada Games, earning a gold medal.
ShapkaĀ has spentĀ six years coaching the Alberta Provincial team, includingĀ three years as their head coach.Ā
She has also been an assistant coach with the Pandas Soccer program since 2017, and has been the head coach of the junior program for the last two seasons.Ā
Prior to that, she was an assistant coach at Concordia University of Edmonton from 2013-2017.Ā
Shapka grew up playing soccer in the Edmonton area, participating in the 2000 and 2002 Alberta Summer Games. She also represented Alberta as a member of the Provincial Team, and earned silver at the 2005 Canada Summer Games.Ā
She played NCAA Division I for the University of Montana and University of Hawaii-Manoa, while pursuing her degree in Business Management and Marketing.Ā
She holds a National B License, is an Alberta Learning Facilitator, and a member of the Alberta Soccer Women in Sports Leadership Group.
