Rate of Pay - $22.00/hour + 1.5% premium pay*  *premium pay for current full-time U of A students only
Hours: 6-10 per week
Location - North & South Campus. This role is in person

Department summary

Golden Bears and Pandas Athletics is the varsity department for the University of Alberta. Golden Bears and Pandas Athletics is one of Canada’s premier intercollegiate programs. The U of A competes in the Canada West conference, which resides under the U SPORTS national body, and is home to 22 teams and over 500 student-athletes. The U of A competes in the sports of Basketball, Cross-Country, Curling, Football, Golf, Ice Hockey, Rugby, Soccer, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling. It is our vision to be recognized locally, regionally, nationally and internationally as a leader in the pursuit and achievement of excellence in sport.

Position summary

Do you love sports? Basketball, hockey, football, soccer, rugby and volleyball are some of the Golden Bears and Pandas sports at the University of Alberta that require personnel to track game statistics.

We are looking for people who are accurate, passionate, knowledgeable, prompt, alert and committed to join our stats crew for the 2025/26 varsity season! In order for fans, media and our teams to get an accurate and comprehensive account of our games and athletes, diligent staff members must ensure all components of athletic events involving statistics run accurately and smoothly. 

The primary role is recording statistics at U of A football, soccer, basketball, hockey, rugby, and volleyball games. Shifts are typically scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays, daytimes and evenings, with possibilities of Thursdays and Sundays, throughout the course of the season (September - March).

Qualifications

  • Available to work weekends
  • Attentive and detail-oriented
  • Strong knowledge/passion of sport
  • Computer experience working within a Windows environment
  • Proficient typing/writing skills
  • Able to stay on task within large crowds and/or high-intensity situations
  • Able to solve problems in an efficient and effective way
  • Familiar with Golden Bears and Pandas Athletics teams and events
  • Previous competitive or statistics experience is a plus
