Pay Rate - $17.47 + 1.5% premium pay*  *premium pay for current full-time U of A students only
Location - North and South campus. This role is in person

Department summary

Golden Bears and Pandas Athletics is the varsity department for the University of Alberta, and falls under the Dean of Students portfolio. Golden Bears and Pandas Athletics is one of Canada’s premier intercollegiate programs. The U of A competes in the Canada West conference, which resides under the U SPORTS national body, and is home to 24 teams and over 475 student-athletes. The U of A competes in the sports of Basketball, Cross-Country, Curling, Football, Golf, Ice Hockey, Rugby, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling. It is our vision to be recognized locally, regionally, nationally and internationally as a leader in the pursuit and achievement of excellence in sport.

Our mission is to create a student-athlete-centered, coach-driven and administratively supported university sport environment that will facilitate the academic, athletic and personal development of all athletes. This is accomplished by providing internationally recognized high performance sport competition, high performance coaching, resources and a progressive approach to the on-going development of university sport in Canada.

Position summary

Athletics is currently seeking energetic, customer service oriented, team members to join our Account Executive team for the 2023-24 conference season and playoffs. Reporting to the Event Ticketing Lead, the Account Executive is responsible for the sale of ticket packages and group sales for Golden Bears & Pandas Athletics.

Shifts are typically scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the course of the season (September - March).

Duties

  • Participates in Ticket Package and Group Sales
  • Provides ticketing services at venue box office on Game Days (Friday and Saturday nights)
  • Shows strong time management skills to balance workload between ticket packages and group sales initiatives
  • Outbound phone calls and emailing to connect with B2C clients
  • Identifies the correct ticket package for each unique customer
  • Builds relationships with new and existing customers
  • Promote additional products to current clients

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Must have persistence and creativity
  • Must be driven and self-motivated
  • Must have strong relationship building skills
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills in addition to a strong telephone presence
  • Be willing to work weekends and evenings; all Golden Bears & Pandas ticketed events including playoffs and national championships

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sales experience is preferred
  • Experience with CRM software and/or Ticketmaster Archtics is an asset
