LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – The University of Alberta Pandas dropped a 36-22 decision to the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns on Saturday, unable to hold off a Lethbridge side that answered every Alberta score with one of its own.

Dori Miller opened the scoring for Lethbridge, but Mayeling Henry crossed for Alberta's first try, converted by Kate Alcock, to put the Pandas ahead 7-5. Ann Laure-Germain restored Lethbridge's lead before Alcock's penalty goal tied it at 10-10, but Lethbridge pulled away with tries from Millie Teskey and Jayda Morrison — the latter converting her own try — to take a 22-10 lead. Kaitlin Tetteh-Wayoe got one back for Alberta before halftime, trimming the margin to 22-15 at the break.

Lethbridge extended its lead early in the second half when Ashley Izekor scored off a Morrison conversion, but Henry struck again for her second try of the match, converted once more by Alcock, to pull Alberta within seven at 29-22. Lethbridge had the final word, with Seq'hiya Simmons crossing and Morrison adding the extra points to close out the 36-22 win.

Henry finished with a pair of tries for Alberta, while Alcock accounted for all of the Pandas' kicking, converting both of Henry's scores to go with her penalty goal. Morrison was the workhorse for Lethbridge, scoring a try of her own and converting three others.

The loss drops Alberta to 1-1 on the season, while Lethbridge improves to 2-1.

The Pandas will travel to face the Calgary Dinos on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Lethbridge will host the UBC Thunderbirds on Thursday, Oct. 1.
