WINNIPEG, MB - The Western Mustangs won their second straight men's title and the Guelph Gryphons earned their seventh title in the last eight years on the women's side at the 2026 U SPORTS Track and Field National Championship at James Daly Fieldhouse.

The Gryphons women secured first with 105 points overall, with Saskatchewan earning silver with 79 points. Windsor took home bronze with 70 points.

Alberta took silver with 60.5 points on the men's side, aided by an incredible weekend from Athlete of the Meet Ryder Rattee, who was named the U SPORTS Athlete of the Meet.

Rattee put his name all over the record books, winning the the 300m and 600m, before anchoring the Golden Bears 4x400m relay team to another gold medal. His performance in the 300m was breathtaking, as he set a new U SPORTS record with a winning time of 32.75 seconds, breaking the previous record of 32.89 seconds set by former Bear Austin Cole.

He was just as dominant in the 600m, winning by nearly two full seconds, and setting a new Golden Bears record with a time of 1:16.75.

Rattee somehow raised the bar yet again, helping the Bears win their third-straight 4x400m national title. Leading narrowly after three runners, Rattee obliterated the field in the final leg, as the Bears won the relay by an astonishing three seconds, while also shattering the previous team record in the event.

Sander Sampson also earned two medals for the Golden Bears, placing second in men's shot put, and third in weight throw. Rookie Nico Claramunt added a bronze in the 300m.

On the women's side, fifth-year Panda Olivia Cooper's double-gold championship led the Alberta women to a fifth-place finish. Cooper ended her varsity career in style, earning gold in the 1500m on Saturday. Cooper placed first with a blistering time of 4:22.13, breaking her own program record by nearly two full seconds. This comes after Cooper earned gold in the 1000m on Friday.

The Pandas fifth-place finish is their best at nationals since 2023.
