Game Recap: Pandas Hockey |

Dojahn, Morden, Pandas hand UBC first loss of 2025/26

Dojahn stops all 33 UBC shots in 2-0 Pandas win

EDMONTON - Mackenzie Dojahn stopped all 33 UBC shots she faced, leading the Alberta Pandas to a 2-0 shutout win over the Thunderbirds on Saturday.

It marks the first loss of the season for UBC, who entered the matchup with am undefeated 13-0-0 record. Jadynn Morden scored both Pandas (4-6-4) goals in the second period, doubling her season goal total in one game.

Mya Lucifora made 12 saves for a UBC side that outshot Alberta 33-14. The shutout is the fourth in the career of Dojahn and second this season, who improves to 2-1-1 in four starts in 2025/26. Saturday's result marked the first time this season UBC has been shutout, and just the third time they have allowed multiple goals against in one game.

Neither team found the back of the net in the opening frame, despite multiple quality chances. Dojahn turned aside all nine shots she faced to keep the game scoreless after twenty minutes.

The Pandas broke through midway through the second. Morden opened the scoring with her third of the season, firing a shot past Lucifora off a setup from Kelly Stanford. Alberta doubled its lead eight minutes later, when Morden struck again, this time assisted by Hayleigh Craig. The goal capped a strong shift that saw Alberta sustain pressure deep in the UBC zone.

The Thunderbirds pushed for a response in the final frame, generating 16 shots, but Dojahn stood tall to preserve the clean sheet. Alberta killed off a late cross-checking penalty to Abbey Bourdeaud'Hui at, closing out the shutout with a composed defensive effort. UBC outshot Alberta 16-1 in the third, but struggled to get quality shots past the slot defence of the Pandas, and Dojahn behind them.

Alberta will host the 8-5-1 Trinity Western Spartans next weekend, while UBC will return home for a two-game set against the 6-4-2 Saskatchewan Huskies.
