LETHBRIDGE, ALTA. - Michi Gratton scored a pair of tries in the opening half, leading the visiting Alberta Pandas to a 38-21 win over the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Saturday night. 

After falling behind 7-0 in the second minute, Alberta ripped off four straight tries to end the first half. Sydney Gallagher, Ashley Amson, Bea Herrera and Shelby Pierce also recorded tries for the Pandas, to go along with four converts from Kate Manning. Saturday also marked the first leg of the Suggitt Cup. 

Kenya Richards scored the first try for the Horns, breaking the Pandas defence up the sideline, energizing the crowd on Senior Night for the 'Horns.  

Kenya Richards broke the Alberta defense in the second minute of the game, running up the sideline to score first for the Pronghorns. Verity Fex completed the convert to put the Horns up seven to start the game.

Alberta maintained control over much of the first half, keeping the ball in the Horns zone. The Horns were able to keep the Pandas off the scoreboard until the 18th minute, when Michi Gratton scored for the opposition, leading to a four try run.

Michi Gratton ran one in for the Pandas in the 33rd minute of the game, setting up Kate Manning for the convert from centre.

In the second half, Kayleigh Noel made a push for the Pronghorns working deep into the Panda's zone, which put Payton Viney in scoring position to earn the try for the Horns. Verity Fex followed up the try, completing the convert to bring the Pronghorns within ten.

Alberta earned their first try of the second half in the 55th minute, as fourth-year Panda, Ashley Amson worked inside to add to the opposition's lead. Kate Manning completed the convert to make it 31-14 Pandas.
