EDMONTON - Third-year Panda Claire Signatovich recorded her 10th double-double of the season, scoring 17 points to go along with a game-high 12 rebounds, as Alberta earned a 87-54 over the visiting Brandon Bobcats on Friday night.

Fifth-year Panda Emma Kary also added a game-high 19 points on 6/12 shooting, with Jenna Harpe also scoring 14. The Pandas led for all but 36 seconds on Friday, improving to 12-3 in conference play. The loss for Brandon drops them to 0-15 this season. 

Reetta Tulkki led Brandon with 20 points on 7/17 shooting, adding eight rebounds and two assists. Faith Clearsky added 11 points. 

Alberta dominated on the glass, out-rebounding Brandon 50-29, including 16 offensive boards, in a game in which the Pandas led by as many as 42. Signatovich factored into the large rebounding gap, along with a points in the paint advantage of 40-18. 

Kary, Harpe, and Signatovich combined for 19 of the Pandas 28 points in the first quarter, as they raced out to a 28-16 lead. Alberta made 11/18 of their shots in the first 10 minutes. 

The second quarter was much of the same, as Alberta outscored Brandon 21-5. Through 20 minutes, the Pandas were holding the Bobcats to a 27% make percentage, compared to a 54% mark for the home side. 

Eight of Tulkki's 20 points came in the third quarter, as she seemed to be the only Bobcat who could finish on offense consistently. Despite her efforts, the Pandas still outscored Brandon 26-19 in the third. 

The two sides will meet again tomorrow night at 5:00 p.m. MT at Saville Community Sports Centre.
