Keeping their undefeated season alive, the Pandas Tennis team captured the 2022 Western Regional Championship with a 5-2 win over UBC, Sunday afternoon in Vancouver.
The win secures a spot for the Pandas at the 2022 Tennis Canada University Tennis Championship, this August in Ontario. The win also extends the Pandas team to 19, with the Pandas last loss coming in the 2018 national final. The Pandas have gone 113-20 in singles and doubles matches over the past three years, winning the 2019 and 2021 national titles.Â
This season alone, the Pandas own a 7-0 team record, winning 42 of the 49 matches they've played.Â

The Bears, meanwhile, suffered a 4-3 loss to UBC, failing to qualify for the national championship for the first time since 2009.Â
The Pandas earned the doubles point over UBC with all three of their doubles teams picking up convincing wins.Â
