Looking to for a record 17th University Cup title, the Canada West Champion Alberta Golden Bears will head into the 2022 National Championship seeded No. 1.Â
The Bears will play the host Acadia Axemen on Thursday afternoon in the U SPORTS Quarter-Final, in a rematch of the 2018 quarter-final, won 8-6 by Alberta in Fredericton.Â
This season will also mark a record 43rd appearance for the Bears at the University Cup. The Bears went 16-3-1 in conference play in 2021/22, before sweeping both Calgary and UBC in the conference playoffs, winning their 56th conference title.Â
