Former Golden Bears volleyball assistant coach and student-athlete
Craig Marshall has signed a professional coaching contract to become the head coach of Nordenskov UIF Volley in Denmark.
Marshall will join the Nordenskov UIF Volley squad in Denmark in August of this year and will prepare to do battle against other teams in the competitive league of Volleyligaen.
Marshall re-joined the Golden Bears in 2018, spending three seasons as an assistant coach with the Bears. He also spent two years as a libero with the team, from 2009-11.
"We will miss Craig dearly and the tremendous contribution to and efforts for Golden Bears Volleyball that extend nearly a decade," said Golden Bears head coach
Brock Davidiuk.
"We are so very proud of him for landing his first career head coaching gig in Denmark. Craig is the kind of coach that holds himself to the highest moral standards, devotes himself endlessly to his craft, and cares deeply for all those in his community. For these reasons and many more, he has an incredibly bright future, and I can't wait to see the impact he will have as he moves through his coaching career."
Marshall has had an incredible tenure with the Golden Bears Volleyball program as an assistant coach, who contributed tremendously to their established culture. The Bears relied on him as a statistician, passing coach, video review expert, and in many other areas of coaching.
Having also coached at King's Community College and with various Volleyball Alberta programs, Marshall has become known as an encyclopedia of volleyball information, whether it's indoor, beach, men's or women's volleyball.
