Pandas overpower Wesmen behind Easton-Ihediohanma’s 29-point explosion

Pandasi improve to 9-0 with 36-point win over Winnipeg

WINNIPEG, MB - Surpassing the 20-point mark for the third time in her last five games, Kiah Easton-Ihediohanma leads Pandas Basketball to a 36-point win over Winnipeg with a game-high 29 points. 

Easton-Ihediohanma delivered a commanding performance  on 9-for-14 shooting, including 5–7 from three and a perfect 6–6 from the line. She added four rebounds, three steals, and a +29 rating, leading all players.

Annacy Palmer contributed 15 points and four assists, shooting 3–6 from deep, while Reece Hall recorded a versatile night with 10 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Mishynn Miller added eight points, five rebounds, and three steals, and McKinley Penninga came off the bench to provide six rebounds, two assists, and two points.

Winnipeg's top scorer was Raia Guinto with 12 points, followed by Missy May Valdez with nine.

First Quarter

The Pandas dominated defensively and offensively from the outset, holding Winnipeg to just 2-for-17 shooting. Annacy Palmer opened Alberta's scoring with a three at 7:54, assisted by Morgan Harris. Kiah Easton-Ihediohanma took over shortly after, hitting a three at 5:49, then adding four straight free throws at 5:17, extending the lead to 10–2. After a Valdez triple cut the margin to five, Reece Hall answered with a layup at 4:13, and Miller added back-to-back buckets to push Alberta ahead 18–6. Easton-Ihediohanma closed the frame with a deep three at 1:01 for a 23–6 lead.

Second Quarter

Palmer struck again from deep at 9:37, and Alberta exploded on a 21–6 run highlighted by threes from Palmer, Semeniuk, and two more from Easton-Ihediohanma — the second assisted by Harris at 4:54. Sophie Hall added a tip-in at 3:47 to extend the lead to 46–18, and Miller, Harris, and Penninga each converted in transition as Alberta entered halftime up 56–20.

Third Quarter

Winnipeg found some rhythm, hitting three threes in the frame, but Alberta maintained control. Reece Hall scored in transition at 8:12, while Tanner added seven points, including a three at 6:17. Easton-Ihediohanma's continuation of efficient scoring helped the Pandas carry a 74–32 lead into the fourth.

Fourth Quarter

Alberta's depth closed the game comfortably. Morgan Harris scored a fast-break layup at 8:44, and Miller added another transition finish at 6:46. Palmer drained a jumper at 5:17, and Sarah Kleib scored in transition at 2:04 to extend the lead to 40. Winnipeg added late free throws and a layup, but Alberta sealed a comprehensive 88–52 victory.
